We searched Amazon for a spring loaded laundry basket and found none on sale. The closest for most homes is the ELYKEN cart, whose shallow bag keeps even the bottom of the load well above your knees. We only kept hampers whose makers say you can load or unload them without bending, so carts that raise only the handle are out. These six are in order of height, tallest first.

How a lifter hamper or spring loaded laundry basket works
A lifter hamper has a false bottom on springs. With a full load, the weight pushes the bottom down. As you take clothes out, the springs push it back up, so the last shirt is near the top and you never reach to the floor of the hamper.
A raised hamper does part of that. The whole basket sits higher, so the load starts at waist height, but the bottom doesn’t rise as you empty it. What matters is how high the basket is and how deep it goes. A tall cart with a shallow bag keeps the last few items closest to hand.

The ELYKEN is the closest thing to a lifter hamper you can buy. Its bag hangs from the top of a 32 inch frame and is only 10.5 inches deep, so the bottom of the load is still well above your knees. That’s the part a spring floor does, and no other cart here gives a bag depth to compare.
The trade is capacity, since a shallow bag holds less than a full basket. The bag goes in the washing machine, and the frame folds small.
