We found two laundry baskets on Amazon US whose legs fold out, and whose makers say the legs raise the basket so you bend less. Most other “with legs” hampers stand on short wooden feet that only keep them off a damp floor, and the Brabantia Bo hamper’s legs clip on but the hamper doesn’t fold, so they’re out. The VALPHILA comes first because it’s the only one that gives a height.

How a laundry basket with legs that pop out works
The legs are hinged under the base. You fold them out and they lock, which holds the basket about two feet off the floor. Fold them back in and the basket collapses flat to go behind the washer or under a bed.
The basket most people have seen in videos is the White Magic one, sold in Australia and the UK. It isn’t sold on Amazon US. The two baskets below work the same way.
What to compare in a laundry basket with foldable legs
Both fold to nearly the same size, about 23.6 by 15.7 inches and 3 inches thick, so they may be the same basket sold under different names. The listings differ in what they tell you:
- Height with the legs out: only VALPHILA gives it, 25.59 inches. The higher it stands, the less you bend.
- Capacity: VALPHILA gives 12 gallons. Spark Innovators doesn’t say.
- Wheels: neither has them, so you carry the basket to the washer by its handles.
- Folded thickness: 2.9 to 3 inches for both, thin enough to slide beside a washer.
SORA sells one with wheels as well as legs, 21.7 inches tall, but it was out of stock when we checked in late October 2026.

The VALPHILA comes first because it’s the only one whose maker says how high it stands, about 26 inches, and how much it holds. VALPHILA says that height means less bending to load and unload it, and owners with arthritis or bad backs agree.
There are no wheels, so you carry it to the washer by its handles. One owner says it can tip on an uneven floor.
What owners say
- Positive: Owners with arthritis or bad backs say the legs bring the basket to a comfortable height, and that it folds to about 4 inches to store.
- Negative: One owner says it can tip over on an uneven floor. It is a single report.
